Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity.
Art and Design programmes of study: Key Stages 1 and 2
At St George's every child is seen as an artist, where they are given the chance to explore different techniques, artists and styles. Often these are related to the topics taught within other subjects to deepen their understanding.
We have been lucky enough to have visits from artist Tan Draig who completed workshops with every class and created some fantastic sculptures.
Every year students will be given the opportunity to develop their drawing, painting and sculpture skills as well as developing collage and textiles skills where relevant.
The use of sketchbooks in classes lets children to be free to explore topics in their own way - following their creativity. This means learners take pride and ownership of their work and makes every artist at St George's unique.
